Students entering 7th or 8th grade for the 2026–27 school year are invited to apply for membership in the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS).
To be eligible, students must:
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Complete at least 6 hours of community service during the summer
If you are unsure whether you meet the GPA requirement, you may email Mrs. Simpson after June 18 to request your cumulative GPA. Students with a GPA below 3.5 are not eligible for NJHS membership.

What Do I Need to Do This Summer?
Your only summer requirement is to:
- Complete 6 hours of community service
- Record your hours on the Summer Service Log
- Submit the completed log by Friday, September 4, 2026, at the end of the school day
Please note: No extensions will be granted. NJHS members are expected to demonstrate responsibility and follow deadlines. Failure to submit the required service hours by the deadline will result in automatic disqualification from the application process.
After service hours are submitted, an informational meeting will be held in September to review the remaining application requirements. The full NJHS application will be due on September 25, 2026.
